"The energy Physical Plant brings to their recordings is remarkable." - MIEUX MAGAZINE

The energy Physical Plant brings to their recordings is remarkable. Momentarily forget that this is a Florida-based music blog and that this band is from Florida’s very own space coast. Also seemed to have forgot that this is the year 2018, and, well, anything else that might impede upon your preconceptions on first listen. Holy sh*t. To say that this sound is refreshing is an understatement.

From what I understand, the band has existed since 2009, and started at New College of Florida. Their sound is refined and focused. The harmonies are executed thoroughly, and every single instance improves on every song’s movements. The vocalist is pretty impressive, as well, showcasing a great diversity on songs such as, “No Proposals”, What’s Laid Down”, and Southern Cross”.

The band appears to draw on a number of influences for this album, which, with its various styles, can seem somewhat sprawling, despite the length being just fourteen songs. Of course, rock is a huge influence, but one can easily hear that the sound is not dated, and manages to catch your ear through refreshingly structured compositions. Physical Plant has the talent, breadth, and vision to become a tour de force act in North America, let alone Florida. In fact, I’m following them right now to find out when their next show is. You should do the same.
